Support a system in native mode, NTLM? |
|
|
we want to migrate a system that is in a mixed mode to native mode.
In a few weeks, we will have an OpenCMS Portal Web, that can autentificate
users with NTLM protocol.
Could a system in native mode, support NTLM or NTML don´t exist in native
mode?
Sorry, my english in terrible.
Thanks,
Sergio Sánchez. (Spain) |

Hello,
According to your message, I assume that you have a win2k domain in a mixed
mode. You want to confirm that in a native mode, it still supports NTLM
authentication. Is it correct?
Yes, the win2k domain in a native mode still supports NTLM as there may
exist some downlevel computers as win98 which need to have NTLM
authentication.
The main difference between mixed mode and native mode is that in the
native mode, NT BDCs will not work as DC any longer. You can change the
mode to native mode when you are sure that all the Windows NT 4.0-based
domain controllers are no longer required in the domain.
