I have Sharepoint Team loaded from Office XP on Windows 2000 Server.

When I edit a word document using the 'Edit in Microsoft Word' and then save
the document they seem to save ok.
But if I then return the the document list and reopen the document the
changes do not seem to appear. I have even tried navigating completely away
from the document list and back again and still the changes do not show.
If I then close the browser and reopen the browser and navigate my way back
and reopen the document again the changes can then be seen.

On the surface this may seem to be a small issue but what I have noticed
that most people here seem to leave sharepoint open on their desktop all day
while they working or they have sharepoint open while another member of staff
is making changes. This means they may not see any changes until the
following day or if they reopen their browser.

Is there any way around this without them having to keep reopening their
browser?

Thanks

Sounds like your browser is keeping a copy of the original document in its
cache, and it only gets purged when you close out the browser. One solution
you can try is to enable content expiration for your web in IIS. Set the
content to expire in 1 minute - this will force the browser to get the
latest version off the website. Do not check the button for immediate
expiration as this will cause an error whenever the desired document is
accessed.
