i need to know how to decide what mode name to use when configuring HIS
for example am working with a client who have VM VSE/ESA systems and am
trying to get LU6.2 WIP over SNA and am stuck at the Mode to choose how
should i choose that ??

The entity that you are connecting to, for example CICS, will have
connection and session definitions that you should try to match.

Here are some values that you can start with if you don't already have LU62
definitions on the mainframe side.

Limits
Parallel Session limit: 100
Contention winner limit 50
Partner contention winner limit 50
Automatic activation limit 1(at a minimum)

Characteristics
Pacing send count 4
Pacing receive count 4
Send RU size 1024
Receive RU size 1024

Don't worry about Partners or Compression.

Ahmed - the mode name should come from the VTAM systems programmer who defined
the LU62 definition on the mainframe for you
