HI,

I am able to exchange presence between a SIP client A and a windows
messenger client B using the LCS 2005 EE.

I am not able to exchange messages. When my client A sends a SIP
MESSAGE in pager mode to the LCS server, I receive a SIP 488.

Does the LCS 2005 support messaging only within sessions, I mean do I
need to send INVITE first to enable messaging ?
Any help on this is appreciated.

Thanks.

That sounds like a question for microsoft.public.livecomm.developer ... but
I wanted to drop a line and see if you are connecting to the LCS 2005 EE
server by the server name or by the pool name. If you are connecting
directly to the server name, connect to the pool name (you may have to enter
an A record into DNS if you haven't already done so). As an alternative (if
you don't have access to the DNS servers, you can enter the A record for the
EE pool into the hosts file on the client(s).
