I have a new XP SP2 workstation connected to a 2003 domain server. The
workstation can't access the server using FQDN.

Doesn't work: net use * \\computer.domain.local\share
Works: net use * \\computer\share
Works: ping computer.domain.local

Roaming profiles aren't working. In AD, they're setup as
\\computer.domain.local\share\username

It's not a DNS issue since I can ping the server and none of the other
workstations are having a problem.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Hi,

Is Windows XP client member of domain "domain.local"? If you run

ipconfig /all

on your client, what is the value under "Connection-specific DNS Suffix"

Are there any errors in Event logs (System and Application logs)? Is only
one client having this problems?
