Server not registering ip address with DNS |
|
|
On one of my windows 2003 member servers looking at the dnsclient registry
setting it shows registrationenabled (1), registrationReverseLookup (2),
updatesecuritylevel (256), updatetopleveldomainzones (1). I believe these
setting should be causing my server to register its ip address dynamically
with my dns server. My dhcp server is set to dynamically register all of my
domain computers that are assigned by the dhcp. The addresses for my
servers, printers, etc. are excluded from my scope. My domain controllers
appear to be registering themselves with my DNS server but my member servers
(static IP address) do not appear to be doing so.
Looking for direction on how to trouble shoot this.
Thanks. |

Is their primary DNS suffix, as seen in Server Properties, correct?
When you look at one of the member's Tcp/Ip properties using the UI
on the DNS tab does it show that it is interpreting those reg values as
being set to register dynamically?
