I've upgraded an IIs 6.0 site wi Sharepoint services. On the server,
and through a browser, I can update/edit the site using IE as you'd
expect.

However, I can't open/edit the site using Frontpage.

If I add the FrontPage extensions to a site, I can open/edit using
FrontPage w/o a problem.

Is there a trick to installing STS on IIs so that you can modify wi
Frontpage?

My apologies in advance if this isn't the right newsgroup for this
question. It's difficult to know what's what when two products don't
talk (and Microsoft's naming conventions don't help :)

Are you using Frontpage 2003? Previous versions do not work and play well
with WSS.

Yup - the client is FP 2003. The server is SBS on win 2003. I'm
running IIs 6.0.

After some digging on the net, I found info that Win 2003 SP1 can cause
symptoms just like this and, if you uninstall it, everything starts
working nicely. Unfortunately, that didn't seem to do the trick :(

I think this error is happening whenever I try to edit the STS site
using Frontpage:

Faulting application w3wp.exe, version 6.0.3790.0, stamp 3e8000e6,
faulting module stswel.dll, version 11.0.6411.0, stamp 4192c908, debug?
0, fault address 0x00059dc4.

Any idea what that means and how to fix?

Not a clue. You would probably have better luck posting to the
microsoft.public.sharepoint.windowsservices group - the folks there could
probably help you more than this group (which deals primarily with STS 1.0).
