i have a customer with a microsoft access database file that i cannot copy to
the sharepoint site & i get the following message:
The following file(s) have been blocked by the administrator: Shared
Documents/Job List.mdb
any ideas? i can't even seem to point a shortcut for it either. is it a must
that you upload any document that you wish to share, this customer has a
whole folder for the year 2005 that had about 10,000 files, any way to give
access to the folder without uploading? thanks in advance

Windows Sharepoint Services (which is what I assume you are using) restricts
uploading of certain file types by default. These can be changed by the
administrator. Microsoft has the how-to instructions at the following link:

http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/wss/2/all/adminguide/en-us/stse12.mspx

If that doesn't work, try posting to the WSS group -
microsoft.public.sharepoint.windowsservices.
