(repost from 1/5/05 posting)

I have a single management server with several connected
clients. All the
clients were migrated (using ADMT) from the client's old
NT domain into a
newly named AD (2003) domain.

Once the management server was migrated to the new
domain, I am unable to
instlal agents onto new servers.

I get a very oddly worded event log message (event id
24999 in the app log).

The Microsoft Operations Manager Reponse 'agent
management' does not support
agentless monitoring and will not run on target computer
(s): DOMAIN\COMPUTER

Other than the confusing wording, the target computer
listed is the
management server and NOT the intended (discovered)
target for the management
agent.

Short of destroying the MOM environment and redeploying
everything, how can
I get the management server into the new domain within
MOM? If you examine
the properties of the management computer, it shows the
old domain name on
the 'general' tab, and that field cannot be changed.
None of the other
machines are listed with the old domain. When managed
servers were moved
from one domain to another, I had to remove the agent and
redeploy the agent
using the correct domain name.

Is using a temporary second management server a possible
option? if so, how?
