Hi,

I've installed HIS 2000 on a Windows 2003 system which is directly connected
to IBM mainframe using ethernet LAN and my objective is to configure the HIS
to talk to IBM mainframe. I have access to IBM mainframe running OS/390.

I am trying to configure a 802.2 connection from Microsoft SNA Manager. I
give a name to my connection and select a link service of type ethernet which
is already configured in the general tab.

Now, in the address tab, I need to provide the remote network address which
is a 12 digit hexadecimal address. HIS help says to contact remote system
administrator or the network administrator for the correct value. The default
as the help says is 400000000000. There is no network administrator to
provide this details. I need to get it on my own now.

The question is,
How do I get this information and from where do I get?
Is this network address configured in IBM mainframe?
If so, how do I get this information. What commands do I need to execute on
IBM?

Please provide me all the possible steps to follow to get this information.

And my understanding is the "local node id" in the system identification tab
should match IDBLK and IDNUM of the PU with the same name configured on the
IBM's VTAM list.

Regards,
Dash

The mainframe WILL be supported by a VTAM Systems Programmer who can give you
this information.

Where it's configured will depend on what sort of NCP / Card / Controller that
the mainframe is using for SNA connections.
