I have two domains, each with it's own Exchange server. One domain, LA,
has Win2k3 Server Enterprise and Exchange 2003 Enterprise. The other
Domain, OC, has Win2k and Exch2K. We just merged the two companies and
are in need of connecting the two so we can share resources and unify
our Exchnage system. Any ideas? I'm happy to elaborate if need be.

I think that is the best idea but our current hardware doesn't want to
play well. They have D-Link DFL-300 and we have SonicWall Pro3060.

Get them a Sonicwall TZ170. They aren't expensive and come in 10-node,
50-nodeversions. Setting up a site link VPN between Sonicwalls is a piece of
cake. Make sure they're on a different private IP subnet than you are,
though, or VPN won't work. You could use 192.168.1.0 for your network, and
192.168.1.0 for them, etc etc etc.

Also note - I saw that you have replies to your identical (original) post in
another group. Please don't multipost - if you need to post to multiple
groups, it's best to crosspost instead, by posting a single message to a
handful of relevant groups (separate the NG names with commas) so that
everyone can follow the thread. This makes it easier for everyone, including
you.

by my understanding, both D-Link DFL-300 and SonicWall Pro3060 allow VPN
passthrough. If this is the case, you can create windows demand-dial site to
site connection.

The VPN part I am well adept at (and SonicWall hardware), thanks for the
advice. It's the Merging of domains that I am not. Multi-post VS Cross
post..... Wow, this is the really confusing stuff. how do i
differentiate?

Getting the routing working will probably be the least of your worries.
To fully integrate the two sites, you will probably need domain trusts. And
before you tackle that, you probably need to integrate the DNS systems.

One popular way to handle DNS between sites is to make each DNS server a
secondary for the other (ie set up a secondary zone to mirror the primary in
the other site). IF you can't sort out the domain trusts, you may do better
posting in the Active Directory newsgroup.

And then after all that,...the Exchange Servers need to be moved into the
same "Exchange Site" so they can interact together,...which is yet "another
animal" all its own from the rest you need to do. ...Assuming you can move
a post configured Exchange to a new "site" without reinstalling,...I'm not
quite sure.
