File server Migration |
|
|
Hi
We have migrated all the user accounts, groups from the old domain to the new
domain.
The users workstations are migrated to the new domain. Now the users are
logging to the new domain and still accessing their files in the file server
which is in old domain.
Now the servers are still in the old domain.Shall I connect the file server
to the new domain directly. Will the permission be there.

Hi Mark,
Maybe I'm not very sure about your concerns. But in my opinion: to be a
complete migration, we should also migrate the file server to new domain to
avoid any exception.

I have basically the same issue. In my test domain, I migrated group,
computer, user account with SID history from source domain to target domain.
File server is still in source domain. When I log on to the target domain
with migrated user account and map a drive to source domain\file server, I
get error message "access denied". How do I resolve this? any info will be
appreciated.
