I am in the right place? |
|
|
i have an excel workbook on a server at work. I want to select teh icon for
the workbook and go into properties > security and then set the permissions.
There are three groups that have access to the workbook: admin, sgts, and
Lts., I want to set the properties of the workbook's security so that no one
can delete the workbook. I have tried to do this by checking the box under
deny column for delete and leaving everything else checked allow (except for
the full access box of course). but then when I try to test it by attempting
to delete the workbook, it still allows me to delete it. Can someone help me
accomplish this task.
Thank You,

Hi Brian,
Sorry, you're not in the right place, but I suggest that you should either
look at the permissions on the share where your file is located or and the
Security settings for the folder concerned. In either of these locations you
can deny users the right to delete files.
Hope this helps.
Rob.
