Hi all,

I have set up LCS 05 SE in a 03 domain environment - tcp and tls works.

Now I want to head to the next step and want to enable access to the LCS
from outside (home office user).

1. Do I need an access proxy unconditionally?

2. What happens, when I open port 5061 on the FW and forward the traffic to
the internal LCS? Does this not work? I haven't tested it yet.

3. What is the role of a director? Do I need this too?

Thank you for giving me an overview,

Manfred

Hi Manfred,

to accomplish this you need an Access Proxy in place. This is the best
approach from set up and security piont of view. For more detials please see
fowlloing documentation

If your home user(s) connect through a VPN to your network then you wouldn't
need an Access Proxy (i.e. so it's not unconditionally needed). However,
without other means of "tunneling" to your network then yes an Access Proxy
is needed

Hi Sabzali,

thank you for your response. Some home user have vpn access, some not. So I
have to implement an AP too.

Regards,
Manfred
