Posted: Fri Jul 22, 2005 4:52 pm    Post subject: IMS to HIP fails using a TRM interchange Reply with quote

I am trying to get HIP working from IMS using TRM and it consistently
fails at the same point. I am using the Microsoft supplied MSHIPLNK
program from the SDK and it talks to a BMP Listener running in another
region.

I successfully communicate with the HIP Socket Listener during the
start of a TRM interchange but when it attempts to receive the user
data it fails:

The HIS trace shows:-

21003 Calling IBMCCS TRM Handler
..
..
21300 Workflow is IBMCCS Handler found TransID - CODS
..
..
..22028 Transport Recieve entered, maximum 35 bytes to receive
..
..
22030 Transport receive exited normally, 35 bytes rcvd,...
..
..
22025 Transport send entered, 8 bytes to send
...
..
22027 Transport send exited normally

..
22028 Transport Receive entered , maximum 1040 bytes to receive..
..
..
22029 Transport Receive exited abnormally at point 1, HRESULT
=0x00002746.

I ran a packet trace of the interchange and saw a checksum error (page
6 entry on the trace below).

I assume that the mainframe shut the socket after receiving the
checksum error hence the abnormal exit but I have no idea why the
checksum is being sent or where to go from here.

The message indicates that you have the mapping of the port number to an
IBMCCS header, if you are using the MSHIPLNK you should be mapped to
TRMHandlerMSLink.

Terry,
I have used TI Manager to set up the HOST ENVIRONMENT and on the
Properties dialog on the Default tab I have selected Transaction
Request Message (TRM) for the Type.
For the Object I have selected Microsoft HIS - TRMHandlerMSLink 1.1
On the Object Properties Method Resolution Criteria in the Method
Resolution Criteria dialog for the Type I have selected Transaction
Request Message (TRM) .
For the Object the only handler that appears in the drop down list is
Microsoft HIS - TRMHandlerIBMCCS 1.1 Object.
How can I get Microsoft HIS - TRMHandlerMSLink 1.1 to appear in the
drop down box?

regards,
Tom
