Sometimes in Veritas BackupExec 9.1 the SAN tape drives go offline. The
only way to correct this issue is to do a reboot. I was wondering if this
is a problem with Windows 2003 or Veritas Backup, do anyone think if there
will be something done in the future about this? Can you do a SCSI rescan
in Windows 2003 to reestablish the tape devices? Will Service Pack 1 for
Windows 2003 help this?

I had the same problem with this in a 2000 cluster. I ended up moving the
backup to one of the nodes and keeping all of my resources on that node.

Is the problem of the Windows 2003 or the veritas software?

The problem that I had was related to the hardware used to connect the tape
drive to the fiber and expose it to both systems.
