Ruben-

We have had a few problems creating packages on the newest version of
DB2/AIX. We corrected these problems with hotfix 899272 which is so new that
the KB article doesn't appear to be completed and published yet. So... all
the problems that we know about I believe we have fixed.

From your system description below, it appears you already have this hotfix
applied - so you should already have our latest code in this area. It's
quite possible you're running into a problem we just haven't seen yet. I'm
pretty sure we have a few other customers who are working fine with the
latest version of AIX now that they have the hotfix.

Can you provide some more details:
- Are you getting errors from the HIS DB2 provider?
- Is this a 64bit AIX system?

I'll provide as much help as I can, but if you are truly running into a new
problem that will require us to investigate and possibly produce another
hotfix, the quickest and best route for you may be to get a support case
opened up with us so that we can gather traces from you and more specific
details that will help us isolate and resolve the problem.

Hi Aaron,

I do know that there were some problems with HIS 2004 package installation
on DB2/AIX system couse we opened a Ticket for this iessue to the Premiere

couldn't recognize AIX system perfectly...
But we still have some problems...
I do confirm that AIX system is a 64bit system either the DB2 is a 64bit

We don't recive any error from "Package installation wizard" output pane,

When we click on the Packase button we can see that it installs 1 Package
(MSCS001) then it stops responding (we mast kill the wizard tool) and in the
mean time we can find the error messages on the DB2 system.

We belive that there's still something wrong with the "Package installation
wizard" tool becouse if we try to install other Packages (QMF ones!)
everything works fine...

I hope it can help.

Thanks a lot,
Ruben.

Please open a case with PSS to resolve this issue. I can confirm that
creating packages does work with 64bit AIX version 8.0. But, there could be
some other issue here causing your problem. We will need to see traces to
determine exactly what is happening.

Thanks,

Network traces would be nice, but we would also need to see DB2 Network
Library traces.
IE: Start-Run-SNATRACE.EXE, OK
Under "Tracing Global Properties", change the "Trace File Flip Length" to
200meg (default is 10meg I believe).
Then, under Trace Items tab, select "DB2 Network Library", then click
properties.
Turn on everything under all 3 tabs (Internal, Message, API).
Repro the problem.
Give the files generated to Product Support.

Good chance they may want to send you the latest provider fixes also, but
you have to call in to get those.

When we click on the Packase button we can see that it installs 1
Package
(MSCS001) then it stops responding (we mast kill the wizard tool) and
in
the
mean time we can find the error messages on the DB2 system.

We belive that there's still something wrong with the "Package
installation
wizard" tool becouse if we try to install other Packages (QMF ones!)
everything works fine...

I hope it can help.

Thanks a lot,
Ruben.

Ruben-

We have had a few problems creating packages on the newest version of
DB2/AIX. We corrected these problems with hotfix 899272 which is so
new
that
the KB article doesn't appear to be completed and published yet. So...
all
the problems that we know about I believe we have fixed.

From your system description below, it appears you already have this
hotfix
applied - so you should already have our latest code in this area.
It's
quite possible you're running into a problem we just haven't seen yet.
I'm
pretty sure we have a few other customers who are working fine with
the
latest version of AIX now that they have the hotfix.

Can you provide some more details:
- Are you getting errors from the HIS DB2 provider?
- Is this a 64bit AIX system?

I'll provide as much help as I can, but if you are truly running into
a
new
problem that will require us to investigate and possibly produce
another
hotfix, the quickest and best route for you may be to get a support
case
opened up with us so that we can gather traces from you and more
specific
details that will help us isolate and resolve the problem.
