MOM'05 agent install problems |
|
|
When I upgraded from MOM2000SP1 to MOM2005 2 of the 32 servers I am
monitoring in the forest root domain failed to upgrade the agent - the
schema master server and 1 of the 2 DNS servers - all identical HW and OS ,
etc.
Using the Remote Agnt Wizzard to force an istall gives:
The MOM Server failed to install agent on remote computer
bnldc0.itd.bnl.gov.
Error Code: -2147467259
Error Description: The agent could not resolve the IP of the MOM Server
momserver.b459.bnl.gov. The error reported is 'No such host is known.'.
Microsoft Installer Error Description: No Description Available
Attempts to run the MOMAgent manual installer gives:
"This installation package is not supported by this processor type.
Contact your product vendor."
All this is being done with a domain admin account, there are NO event log
entries generated on the target systems, the IP addresses are correct,
NSlookup responds correctly and I can ping both directions to these systems.
The OnePoint service is uninstalled. There are no firewalls between these
systems and the ports are all open. The targets are Win2000AS and the MOM is
Win2003AS.
Any other ideas???? |

Have you checked to see if these machines have Windows Installer 2.0? The
machines appear unable to run the package properly.
