Error Message when forwarding mail to Easynet account |
|
|
All of my Email is automatically forwarded to my email account at easynet
from our Exchange 2003 server, allof the mail reaches the easynet account but
sometimes the sender gets the following error message :
There was a SMTP communication problem with the recipient's email server.
Please contact your system administrator.
<#5.5.0 smtp;550 Forged hostname detected in HELO/EHLO:>
I have spoken to easynet who inform me that their mail server is sending
this message because it does not like the format of the message. but they
will not tell me how to stop this happening. (very helpful)
can anyone help me ? |

Hi Steve,
Thank you for the post.
This looks like a typical situation of reverse DNS lookup. The spam
filtering feature is enabled on the remote mail server. When you forward
the email to the remote mail server, it will check the sender's address.
The error indicate that the remote server detected improper domain name
during the HELO/EHLO procedure.
Since we do not know how the spam filter on the remote email server judge
and determine what kind of emails are spam, I would suggest that you
contact the remote mail server admin (easynet), provide the email addresses
of senders who got the NDRs, and ask for assistance from them.
If you have any concern on this thread or anything we can be help on our
side, I am glad to be of further assistance. We look forward to hearing
from you.
Best regards,
