I think there was an incompatibility with the RTM of HIS 2000 client, but if
you use HIS 2000 client SP1/2, or HIS 2004 client, then it will just work.
Install it in normal user mode, not admin mode.

I would recommend that you use the HIS SP1 End User client (I am sure that
HIS SP2 is fine, but I haven't tested it in a Citrix environment). We have
been running that version in both Terminal Server and Citrix environments
and it has worked well. After you do the install of the client there is a
CMD file called HIClient.cmd that is in the TerminalServer folder on the CD.
I don't specifically know why it needs to be run ( I haven't had any
specific problems that were resolved by running it) but, that's what the
install procedures say to do.

Once installed, there are two other items to be aware of.

1. Each TS/Citrix user can have their own HIS client settings. They are
stored in their HKCU registry setting. If you use roaming profiles, the
users HIS client settings may follow them from Citrix server to Citrix
server. Check out MS KB 307750 and 301363. They describe how the registry
settings work for the HIS client. MS KB 307750 describes adding a "/A" to
the end of the configuration utility's command line. This is important if
you want all of the users on a Citrix server to use the same HIS client
configuration.

2. Within the HIS client configuration, check the "Terminate sponsor
connection on disconnect" box and set the Timeout to 1 second. This is
important if you are running HIS client based applications as published
applications. If you don't do this, when you exit your published
application the HIS client will stay loaded (within the Citrix session) and
leave an "orphaned" Citrix session running on the Citrix server.
