Hi

1. I have a 2003 box with AD and LCS2005

2. I can login from the client on the box

3. I am not ablet to login on a computer not on the same domain, but is on
the same subnet - no firewall between

Can anyone assist me on how to get the login working?

- do I need to install the proxy service? - if so, can I install it on the
same box?

Thanks!

Have you run the DomainAdd procedure?
If not, refer to 'Enabling Cross-Domain Scenarios' section in 'Live
Communications Server 2005 Active Directory Preparation' on
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/FX011526591033.aspx

I would really like to keep our exsisting domain out-of-the-picture.

1. I have TCP listing on 5060 not TLS
2. I can connect on the same domain or from a member server
3. I get the login prompt when I try to connect from foreign domain, but
fails to login : Cannot sign in, possibly because the authentication server
is unavailable

It must be possible to login to the server from "outside", or where can I
debug the problem? - all ports are open to and from the server (inside local
network)

I also tried the Access Proxy, but there is to many unknown factors;
certifiticates on a test domain etc.

Thanks

Hi All,

Think I got it working now, I changed the Authentication to NTML only, and
now client's can logon from another domain.

But I must have some serious configuration problems because:

1. When sending messages, no messages is displayed in the remote
conversation window?

2. When disable showing message in popup alert, the message is not beeing
shown to the remote contact?

3. When changing status on client, the icon/text only change on the remote
contact's client? - not local

4. Not able to share og send files

This is the first time I am working with LCS, but it sure don't work for me :(

I am using : Microsoft Office Communicator 1.0.559

Thanks

I am having similar issues...

I can finally get the users to log in from outside the network but here is the problem:

Users from within the network can communicate with eachother.

Users from inside the network can send messages to users out side the network/domain.

Users can log in from outside the network but can not send messages to any users. They only can recieve from users that are inside the network/domain.

Thanks in advance!

Michael
