Hello,

I have installed MOM 2005 operation console on a few XP workstations and
have added a few users into "MOM Users" local group on two MOM servers. When
the users try to open the console they get error " access denied".

I can open it with no problem since I belongs to "MOM administrators: local
group" believe.

Any tips to fix the user's issue?

Thanks,
Wensi

Are the XP workstations running SP2? there might be SP2 Firewall issues.

I would try to create the mom groups, but in the domain and not just use the
local groups MOM creats. Mimic the groups to a domain group, add the users,
and see what comes of that.

Good luck...

If anything else, read the Security paper for MOM 2005.

How were you able to install the Ops console on an XP
workstation? If I try to install the operator console on
my XP Pro workstation, I am told that I need to have
Windows 2000 SP4 installed (which, I obviously don't need).

How did you get it to install?

Thanks in advance - Scott

When you install MOM from CD make sure to select "User Interface". What you
get is you may
not uncheck "MOM server". Make sure fiive X signs.
