Hi,

I just created an internal site at work. One of the features is a shared
database. The database originated from an Excel document that I imported.
Couple of questions:

1. How can a user do a multiple criteria search, then export just those
results and not the entire database?

2. How are formulas treated in a database that was imported from Excel?

Thanks,
Rolando

You don't create a database from Excel. (at least not using WSS - this
newsgroup)

You create a custom list in WSS from Excel.

Can you confirm that this is what you mean before we look at this.

Otherwise I suspect that you have posted to the wrong newsgroup.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your response. I have done it both ways, once with importing
Excel and once by creating a custom list within WSS. In either case, I want
to be able to customize my export of data base on any given search criteria.

When viewing a document, in the upper right hand corner there is a open
field search box. I would like to be able to search for data, say BlackBerry
for example, then have the result show only those items with BlackBerry, then
be able to print only those items. As of now, it exports the entire database.

If possible I would also like to search by more than one criteria, for
example, BlackBerry and India.

Thanks,
Rolando

I'm still lost by the usage of database in this connection so I'll pass and
hope someone else has been having a better day than me.

Anyone ?
