We would like to create a web part that behaves similar to those provided out
of the box. Is it possible to create a part that uses schema information
defined through existing schema.xml files for announcement or list parts?

i.e. if we were to create a part where individuals could post information,
would we use forms similar to additem.aspx (like those provided out of the
box?)

thx

Please post questions asking for information on how to write web parts to
the subnewsgroup that has been set up specially for WSS programming
questions.

microsoft.public.sharepoint.windowsservices.development

There you'll find the assembled WSS programming expertise.

(Please post such questions only there so we keep the clear distinction
between the two newsgroups)
