Interesting. I used Network Load Balancing Management utility on Win2003

It is easier than I thought to make the NLB work. The only thing I am
surprised is that NLB doesn't require a 'heatbeat' between the nodes...

There are multiple ways to configure NLB.

You can do it with a single NIC, or you can do it with multiple NICs and use
a separate heartbeat network

to configure TCP/IP for both scenarios.
