I have SBS 2003 Std. I am having a problem with when I create a mailbox
"info@abc.com" and user "JEN" logs in and opens Outlook to access the "info"
mailbox. Jen then starts to have security issues on her machine. She loses
access to all her shared drives, home directory and even her roaming profile.
The funny thing is that she can read her roaming profile when she logs in but
she can't write back when she exits. I have granted "Jen" access to the
"info" mailbox. But still no change. When trying to access any shared
resource she gets "Access Denied". I have checked and tripple checked her
permissions and she belongs to all the right groups. N.B. Jen does not have a
mailbox account therefore I cannot add her as a delegate.

Two questions:

1. Can I create a mailbox account without creating a user account in Active
Directory?

2. Am I missing something?

Help is much appreciated.

The reason why Jen does not have her own mailbox is because the company does
not want the employee to have a personal email account. They just want
generics. Only the big bosses get personal email.
