Fax Server Hangs up too fast |
|
|
We just got our server up and running. Everything seems to be working fine
and we have 2 Brooktrout boards in it to give us 4 fax lines. Incoming faxes
are working fine and it seemed that outgoing faxes were not working. We found
that if we put 4 ,'s after the number the fax completes, if we do not we get
a disconnected message in the status window.
My guess is that it's just not waiting long enough for the fax machine to
answer. When we put the ,'s that's forcing it to wait a little longer and we
get a successful send. I can't however expect everyone in the company to
continually remember to add commas to their fax numbers. It seems there
should be a setting somewhere (although I can't seem to find it) to tell the
modems how long to wait after dialing for a signal.
Does anyone have any ideas or input? I just need it to wait not more than 4
seconds longer than it currently is but can't seem to pull that off.
Thanks |

Two Brooktrout cards in one server van cause problems. Did you assign
different Id's for each card? There is a little knob on each card, they
should be different.

Yes, they're both on different #'s. In fact they came out the box already set
to different numbers. Like I said, everything is working fine provided the
modem will wait long enough for the fax machine to answer. If I force some
extra seconds (as little as 2 commas work) I get a successful send. If I
don't I get an immediate disconnected message and the fax fails. Receiving is
also working on all lines.
I figure there has to be a setting somewhere that tells the modem how long
to wait for a connection before failing.
