You can't rename your server and expect Exchange to work. Do you have good
backups from before doing this? I'm not sure you will be able to simply
rename it back now, but a) make a good backup of your data & (clearly
offline) Exchange database files) and try.

I have never tried renaming any W2003 server running Exchange, but
especially in SBS I'm surprised it even let you do this without popping up a
huge "DANGER WILL ROBINSON" warning box...

if I rename it back to the old name the exchange works fine again.
i donīt find a point to reinstall only the exchange. is the only way to
reinstall the complete SBS ?

thanks
Michael

How did you rename the SBS server in the first place? There is really no
way to do this without almost reinstalling.

... and if you used the Win2k3 domain renaming tool it says that you can't
use it when Exchange its on the same DC (so, you shouldn't have used that
in SBS).

Yes. And frankly, it is not worth the bother in my opinion.
