exchange is not starting after rename the SBS 2003 server |

hi there,
any ideas how i get the exchange running after i renamed ihe sbs 2003
server ?
After renameing the server everything goes fine but the exchnage did not
start, in the systemmanage i always see the old name of the server.

You can't rename your server and expect Exchange to work. Do you have good
backups from before doing this? I'm not sure you will be able to simply
rename it back now, but a) make a good backup of your data & (clearly
offline) Exchange database files) and try.
I have never tried renaming any W2003 server running Exchange, but
especially in SBS I'm surprised it even let you do this without popping up a
huge "DANGER WILL ROBINSON" warning box... |

if I rename it back to the old name the exchange works fine again.
i donīt find a point to reinstall only the exchange. is the only way to
reinstall the complete SBS ?

How did you rename the SBS server in the first place? There is really no way
to do this without almost reinstalling.
.... and if you used the Win2k3 domain renaming tool it says that you can't
use it when Exchange its on the same DC (so, you shouldn't have used that in
SBS).
