access to company web from internet??? |
|
|
I would like to access the internal site )companyweb) from outside. Mainly to
be able to check faxes while out. Is there a way to do this? Maybe adding a
link on the company.com/remote page, but how would that be resolved in the
internet with no ns entry? |

you would use https://server.domain.com:444 i think ..
plenty of info on how to do it - run the ICW and make sure you tick the
right boxes and have correct ports forwarded

It Says "page can not be displayed. Ran wizard and checked allow all. It did
add an "Administer compy internal web site" option on the remote page. But
when I click on it I get page cannot be displayed.

Hi Walter,
Rerun CEICW and enable Sharepoint in the service of the Firewall section.
Forward port 444 from your router to your external nic IP.

Hi Walter,
Please post the ipconfig/all from the server.
From a workstation you should be able to use http://servername/remote from
inside your network.
What did you fill in for the web certificate?

Hi Walter,
Do select changes. You will never be able to access your server with your
local ad domain name. You will have to use your public IP or the FQDN that
your ISP has created a DNS record for. So it should be https://ip/remote or
https://fqdn/remote.

Hi Walter,
Please post the ipconfig/all from the server.
From a workstation you should be able to use
http://servername/remote
from
inside your network.
What did you fill in for the web certificate?

also
forwarded the port on my firewall. I can not get to it insode
either:http://domain.local:444.

Hi Walter,
Rerun CEICW and enable Sharepoint in the service of the Firewall
section.
Forward port 444 from your router to your external nic IP.

I would like to access the internal site )companyweb)
from
outside.
Mainly
to
be able to check faxes while out. Is there a way to do
this?
Maybe
adding
a
link on the company.com/remote page, but how would
that be
resolved in
the
internet with no ns entry?

Page cannot be displayed. That is with a user that is not an administrator.

I can get to http://www.mydomainname.com/remote. I can when I click on
administer company's internal website I get "page cannot be displayed".

Hi Walter,
Do select changes. You will never be able to access your server with
your
local ad domain name. You will have to use your public IP or the FQDN
that
your ISP has created a DNS record for. So it should be https://ip/remote
or
https://fqdn/remote.
