I need to take an outage of my CMS database servers to provide a patch. The
outage SHOULD only last about ten minutes if all goes well. If things do not
go well, the database server could be down for two hours.

Since CMS has its pages cached, will it continue to appear live or will it
be unavailable? The database is stored on different servers from both the
authoring and viewing environments.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Allen,

all items in the node cache will serve as usual.
But if your site uses searches, then it is most likely that you will see
some problems as some searches are going to the database.

Cheers,
Stefan.
