Hi,
I am using win 2003 with IIS6 , I opened few web sites with different ip's
that each one contains an CMS site, I have problem to authinticate with IIs
windows authentication mode since I get prompt all the time ..
I know that in Normal situation I get no prompt and the site should be
opened in Read only mode to anonymus and in Edit Mode to Editor or Higher
permission user.
The SCA Access tab has the Computer name in the list that considered as my
domain since I am working in stand-alone mode.

How can I solve the problem without changing IIS to anonymus mode , to get
rid of the IIS prompt ??

Hi Leeor,

Can you check your IIS logs for 401 errors and see which URL is causing the
authorisation prompt?

Regards

Hi Leeor,

it seems you did not enable the guest access. This is required to allow
anonymous users to browse the MCMS site.
To enable guest access you need to
- enable guest access in the sca
- configure a guest account in the SCA
- add the configured guest account to a subscriber rights group in
SiteManager
- add the subscriber rights group with the guest account to all channels,
resource galleries and template galleries which should be seen by the guest.

Cheers,
Stefan.

Hi Stefan,
Yes, I DID
I have antoher machine with single IP in it with the same confgiuration,
(Guest login enabled in SCA, Subscriber with the same guest), I also Enabled
anonymus access <allow user ="?"> in Web.Config, and I am very familier with
thos features in CMS Site that works on single IP server.

I have problem with 2 or more IP's on the stage before ASP.Net
Authentication, when trying to pass domain, for one cms site I cant use the
computer name(or DNS) since it pings the ip of the second site, so I tried
IP and ofcourse I got the prompt, but also the site that let me use the host
name is prompting me !!! So I must use Anonymus mode in IIS in order to get
rid of the prompt , but then I have only read permission (Guest)...

How Can I work with to IP's on same Host name/Domain??

Hi Leeor,

sorry your problem description is a little bit confusing now.

Please describe in detail what you are doing, what happens and what you
expect.

Cheers,
Stefan.
