Help needed with AS/400 Link Configuration |
|
|
Years ago (10 or so) I had worked with SNA Server (version 2.0 I think it
was), and successfully configured the links to an AS/400 system for 5250
emulation. So I *somewhat* understand the basics - but again this was 10
years ago, on a much older version of the product.
Now I have been tasked with configuring HIS 2004 so that we can talk to a
group of AS/400 hosts from a Biztalk implementation. When I previously worked
with SNA Server, there was a great whitepaper that described how to configure
AS/400 links, but I cannot find any such documentation for HIS. I know this
*should* be fairly easy once I know the right steps.
Is there any kind of "configuration guide" out there that covers this basic
task? I need not only information regarding the HIS side of the link, but
also the AS/400 side... my midrange counterparts in this project have
literally ZERO experience with this type of integration.
Many thanks in advance.

After digging around, I found some HIS 2000 documentation that suggests using
the MQSeries/MSMQ bridge adapter for what we are wanting to do - and I think
that is the route we are going now. Which also means that HIS is not needed
at all in our scenario.
