Cannot install HIS 2004 over 2000 trial version |

I have W2K Server with HIS 2000 trial version. I purchased HIS and received
2004 since 2000 is discontinued. I tried to install 2004 without
uninstalling 2000 trial and the install log has the following error:

I don't understand what's wrong. What I would prefer is to get a licensed
copy of 2000 so I can downgrade from the licensed version of 2004 that I
have. I am looking for a solution that is simpler and painless. HIS 2000
is running great and all I need is to keep it running now that I have a
license. Help.

Mainstream support for HIS 2000 does not end until 12/2006 so I am not sure
why you are not able to get the software. HIS 2004 just came out of beta so
we are waiting a while before we upgrade to HIS 2004 as well.

Linda,
Have you tried uninstalling the 2000 trial and then installing 2004?

I did not try uninstalling 2000 trial because I was hoping there was an
easier solution. I am worried about not being able to install 2004 and then
having to reinstall the trial since we are actively using HIS now.

Neil,
I found documentation saying that 2004 does not install over the trial
version so the answer is to uninstall. I don't want to install 2004 so I
just emailed Microsoft to find out how to get hold of a 2000 licensed
version. Thanks for your reply.

No problem Linda. Their fulfilment dept should be able to do it for you.
