Hi, after completely uninstalling the Beta 2 version of HIS 2004 and installing HIS 2004 RC2, I started receiving the following error everytime I open TI Manager:

(5750) Transaction Integrator snap-in encountered an error in the registry that indicates that Transaction Integrator is not configured or installed correctly:

Exception description:
(5570) The Snap-in encountered 1 Object(s) (TICs)
that may have been created by a later version of the Snap-in,
or are corrupted. Review the Event Log for details.

EXPLANATION
The Transaction Integrator snap-in failed in performing operations using the management objects. Typically, this warning indicates that the registry has been corrupted or contains values that are incompatible with the currently installed version of Transaction Integrator.

ACTION
Reinstall COM Transaction Integrator software on this machine.

Any help on resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Paul

Paul-

With some of the Beta versions of HIS 2004 there was a bug that would allow you to leave a TI object partially setup in the registry, but not really working, thus producing the error that you are seeing.

What I would recommend is that you check the following location in your registry and see if there are any entries for objects you are not actually using:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Cedar\TIC

If you do not currently have any TI objects setup, than there should be nothing under the TIC folder. If there is, you should probably just go ahead and delete it.

NOTE: I would recommend you backup your registry just in case before you edit. And... as always be careful when editing the registry. Deleting the wrong thing can cause serious problems.

Also.... HIS 2004 has been officially released so I would recommend that you start using the released version of the product rather than the RC.

Hi Paul,
this is not really serious :-). If this is the only error you are seeing
(the 1 TIC), then you might try doing the following:

The registry tree:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Cedar\TIC

contains a set of Keys corresponding to each of the WIP Objects you
registered using the TI mmc snap-in. If you open the TI mmc snap-in, you
will see all of the objects that are considered OK (under WIP - Objects).
While you have this open, click on each of the registry Keys (they look
like GUIDs) and check the Name values against those visible in the TI mmc
snap-in. ONE of the Keys' name should not appear in the snap-in. You can
delete this registry Key (it would be nice if you could dump that key's
values, so that I could look at which one ended up being a problem).

HTH.

I was unable to post a new question so I am adding my question in this thread
as being the most appropriate:

After installing HIS 2004 server 120 day trial version on a W2K3 server I
opened SNA Manager and tried to create a new link service by selecting 'new'
'link service'. But nothing happened. I did the same installation on my W2K
desktop and there I got the expected popup window with a selection of link
service choices. I noticed that on W2K the SNA MngAgent service (server
agent) was present and started whereas on W2K3 this service is absent. Don't
know if this has anything to do with the problem though. Anyone has any ideas?
