"Created by/modified by" problem |
|
|
We have had Team Services running for a couple of years, and recently began
having a strange problem. I confirmed it by duplicating the problem myself.
We have a site on which any new document, or edit to an existing document,
results in the "created by" or "modified by" attribute to be set to the same
individual, no matter who actually makes he change.
We recently finished a migration to AD and Windows Server 2003, from a NT
domain. Is there a correlation?
Thanks,

With Windows Server 2003 not a supported environment for SharePoint Team
Services, there are unlikely to be many people with this environment.
Why didn't you migrate to Windows SharePoint Services at the same time ?
(That *is* naturally supported on Win 2003 Server).
[I haven't heard of this problem, but given the rareness of your move maybe
that's not surprising.]

Mike,
Our intranet design is managed by another department, which has slowed our
progress in updating technologies. We do still have an NT PDC emulator, and
the TS server is still running W2K, so we didn't anticpate any problems.
We've been migrating for several months, and in the last month or so retired
the last production NT DC. I'm not sure if that's even related, but wanted
to give all the facts. I'm looking at disabling anonymous browsing, as in
many cases "Anonymous User" is listed as the changing user. I've done this
for one subweb, and now the correct user is displayed, but I haven't tried it
on the original problem areas.
Thanks for your help!

I hope that your additional information helps someone to come in with some
ideas.
As for me I'm hoping that your removal of anonymous browsing will help with
the original problem areas too.
(Sorry to be of no help whatsoever)
