Sending E-mail after creating users |

Hi,
I am not able to send E-mails to users after creating them. I've got the
following error message
The user or users have been added successfully, but there was an error in
sending the e-mail message. The server may not be set up correctly to send
e-mail. To verify that e-mail is configured correctly, contact your server
administrator.
May I know how or where should i configure the E-mail?
Please advice

Please confirm that you are using the 2001 back product SharePoint Team
Services.
If this is as it seems a new installation, I would guess that you are using
Windows SharePoint Services (WSS).
This is not the newsgroup for Windows SharePoint Services (WSS).
Please post WSS messages (if that is the case) to
microsoft.public.sharepoint.windowsservices

hi! i manage to solve the problem. its because of the mail server not put to
open relay
