Suddenly broken web folders-kind of. |
|
|
Have a SharePoint deployment with 1 parent web and 5 sub webs. Up until a
couple weeks ago web folders worked perfectly well for all 6 sites. Suddenly
without warning, Then one day I noticed that I was not able to see web
folders when trying to save office documents directly to the web. However,
this is only true for 3 of the 6 sites. The other 3 work perfectly fine. On
a whim I created a new user profile on the box and authenticated using
"connect as" and the problem went away!
So does anyone know of anything native to a user profile that might suddenly
cause web folders to misbehave like this.

Sorry that I don't know the answer to this.
From your later comment I presume that you are using SharePoint Team
Services - if so please say so rather than use the generic "SharePoint" as
many people post here incorrectly with WSS problems and saying "SharePoint"
only doesn't give us any clues as to whether you are using STS or WSS.

Sounds weird. A couple of questions:
1) Are the three inaccessible subwebs using unique permissions or are they
using the same permissions as the parent web. How about the other two
subwebs that you can see?
2) Are the subwebs visible via My Network Places? You mentioned that you
cannot see them when saving documents directly from the application, so I am
curious whether they show up at all as network folders.
