SharePoint stops working after VS.NET 2005 beta |
|
|
After installing VS.NET 2005 Beta, my SharePoint Team Services stopped
working (an exception is thrown). Was it expecting .NET Framework 1.1 and
now it is getting 2.0? How do I fix this?
Thanks a lot,

I suspect you should be asking this in the support newsgroup for the VS.NET
2005 Beta.
The SharePoint newsgroups do not usually provide support for the
consequences of the addition of beta software to working WSS
production-level servers.

Hi Andre,
Sorry, I know this post is supposed to be moved to another forum, but I
can't see that it has been. I have experienced this same problem and wonder
if you have a solution to this problem? I have called MSDN Tech support, but
they can't help me because I'm using a beta product...
Thanks,
Lina :-)

I suggest that *you* start a new thread in the correct beta newsgroup if you
want to proceed with this.
Public newsgroups do not deal with beta software problems.

Hi,
I finally found a solution to this problem. Seems IIS6.0 doesn't support
..NET Framework 2.0 Beta. I fixed this by changing properties in IIS Manager,
by telling the web sites to use ASP.NET version 1.1.
The solution is briefly described here:

If the .NET Framework version is the problem :
You can use Denis Bauer's "ASP.NET Version Switcher"
to change the .net version the SharePoint Application will
runs as.
http://www.denisbauer.com/NETTools/ASPNETVersionSwitcher.aspx
Check the .net version the SharePoint Application is running as.
If it's listed as running under v2.0, change it to v1.1.
Click the SharePoint Application, select ASP.NET version 1.1,
and click the "Switch .Net Framework Version" button.
