Remove New Folder in document library |
|
|
hi guys,
i need to remove the option of add "new folder" in the toolbar under a
document library. The probelm I have is that users can just go and
mess up the document library structure by adding new folders, i need
to stop them. I tried making the users have "reader" access, this
works and the password dialog box pops up but the problem with this is
that users can not upload documents since they only have readonly
access. I tried looking at the onet.xml file however there is quite a
few of them SPSNEWS,SPSSITES etc, which one do i edit do get rid of
the "new folder" icon ?

This is the newsgroup for SharePoint Team Services.
Adding Folders to document libraries is not a function that is in SharePoint
Team Services.
Please post to the correct newsgroup for either Windows SharePoint Services
or SharePoint Portal Server 2003 depending on which product you have.
microsoft.public.sharepoint.portalserver
or
