I am having trouble when I attempt to change the SQL Password that
Sharepoint is using to access the SQL 2000 database. I have changed the
account password that Sharepoint is using. Then then go into the Sharepoint
Configuration and change the password on the two different locations to the
new password. After doing this, I reset IIS. When I attempt to open the
sharepoint site, I get an error stating that it cannot connect to the SQL
Database. I change everything back to the original password, and
everything works fine. What am I missing. Thanks. Running Windows 2003
sharepoint services, and SQL 2000 on a different server.

This is the newsgroup for SharePoint Team Services (STS).

I presume by "Windows 2003 sharepoint services" you mean that you are
running WSS (Windows SharePoint Services - no 2003)

If so, its newsgroup is

microsoft.public.sharepoint.windowsservices

please post WSS questions there.
