I have moved away from our ISPs DNS servers in favour of using route hints.

Can anyone comment if this is a good or bad thing?

Hi Austin,

If you have access to the internet from the workstations without any
problem, it is alright. The ISP DNS numbers sometimes are messed up, meaning
that the ISP is not doing their work properly.

I'll second Marina's thoughts as well. I've just been running tests on
that very issue this past week. So far, I haven't been able to tell a
difference, but I just started, too.

btw, I found the cache.dns provided with SBS 2000 inaccurate (or out of
date) with regard to b.root-servers.net. The current list can be found
here ftp://ftp.internic.net/domain/named.root (very complete, including
IPV6) or here http://www.iana.org/arpa-dom/_arpa.htm
