Did any of you already evaluatie WSS PowerSearch, they claim that it allows
you to enhance the pretty basic search functionality from WSS?

I haven't, but I know they already had a search application for the STS v1
product so they have experience of building search apps at least.

Yes, we are using the WSS PowerSearch tool on one of our WSS sites. It
works great - from the root site (WSSserver/sites/Site1) you are able
to search for content in all of its sub-sites
(WSSserver/sites/Site1/AnySiteFromHere).

Tim, can you give some numbers about performance: # of sites,# of documents,
time to complete search query, ...

Not a big production enviroment yet - we have less than 10 sub-sites
that are searched, and not very many documents in them. We're at the
beginning stages of creating a knowledge base; using PowerSearch to
find the data.
