I recently installed Sharepoint Team Services on a Win2k3 server,
using a remote SQL database. I also chose AD Account Creation mode.
My question is: When I am extending a virtual site and delegating
authority for user creation so that the "main" user can add more user,
do I somehow create this "main" user for the site using the standard
AD tools, or do it somehow through Sharepoint?
Does that make any sense?
In other words, do I use AD Creation Mode and Sharepoint to create the
user that can add more users, or do I use the normal stock AD stuff in
the OS?
Thanks,

The SharePoint Team Services newsgroup is at
microsoft.public.sharepoint.teamservices
Please note that Win 2003 Server is not a supported platform for SharePoint
Team Services even though it will work (under IIS 5.0 compatible mode).
Please post SharePoint Team Services questions there.
However be aware that your chances of a reply are slight given the above
fact that W2K3 is an unsupported plartform for STS.

Ack. As Mike Walsh pointed out in a response to my original query,
Sharepoint Team Services isn't designed for Win2003.
However, I made a goof. Shows you how much I know about this at this
point. I meant Windows Sharepoint Services for Windows 2003 Server.
Same question.
Thanks,

Sorry for the semi-automatic response. If I'd have read further and thought
a bit, I'd have realised that AD Account Creation mode comes only with WSS.
I'm just so used to seeing the v2 (incorrectly) after STS when the term is
used correctly. Apologies. (I had a long backlog to work through this
morning.)
I haven't used AD Account Creation Mode but I would assume the main user
would be defined using the WSS UI.
Anyone want to confirm or deny ?
(While you are waiting have a look at the WSS Admin Guide - link at the WSS
