I have a site that I am attempting to move to a new Windows 2003 server
that is running MSDE 2000 and STS2.0. I have tried several things
include using the STSADM.exe tool. My plan is to replace the existing
server, use the same server name etc. I am getting things like "file
not found" when launching the site or "the virtual server doesn't exist
in the config database". I have tried many different methods so I am
not sure what created what error. Does anyone have any pointers or
tips on how to do this? I have looked on MS site and doesn't seem very
helpful and most of it talks about the portal restore, which seems a
little different. Thanks in advance!

There is no SharePoint Team Services v 2.0.

Can you confirm that you are in fact wanting to move Windows SharePoint
Services (WSS) and WMSDE rather than SharePoint Team Services v 1.0 (the
only version of that) and MSDE?
