Searching in WSS |
|
|
When searching in WSS my results contain files and list items that pertain
to my search but then also contain files that do not pertain to my search.
Does anyone know why this is happening. I have not done any custom
programming or custom webparts or modified anything pertaining to searching.
Thanks

In which way do they "not pertain" to your search.
Wrongly selected files ? Wrong location of files ?
Can you give some examples ?

I search for "7td103547-01" a list of documents and list items are returned.
Some pertaining to what I searched on and alot of them what I searched for
is not in metadata or inside the document or the name of the file. What I
did find out on accident yesterday is if I dropped the "-01" it worked
perfect. Not sure what is going on.
Thanks

I don't think there's much we can do about it. (i.e. I doubt if there's a
quick fix)
Personally I think it's the way it 'works'.
