Change stylesheet ows.css |
|
|
I have read some postings about how to add you own custom stylesheets to
SPS... there is plenty of documentation about that. But what is the cleanest
way to change the stylesheets for WSS, for a portal you can add your own
custom stylesheet next to the existing ones which are used ows.css and
sps.css. But for WSS it seems that you can only change stuff by directly
editing ows.css. Is this correct?

In WSS you can apply a theme to a site. A theme has a theme.css file which
contains the styles.
Themes are however not equal to the way the css file works in SPS. The most
important differences are:
1) You must apply a theme manually to a site when you create a new site.
2) You must update every site by hand when you make changes to the theme.css
file.
But it is far better then the alternative of changing the OWS.CSS as theese
changes apply to all your sites, which is not wanted in most cases.

Thx a lot, ... the customer does want that all WSS sites have the same look
and feel, ... so I think that I still have to use the ows.css
