There are two from Apress (www.apress.com) that are good:

Microsoft SharePoint: Building Office 2003 Solutions

and

Advanced SharePoint Services Solutions
http://www.apress.com/book/bookDisplay.html?bID=402

Scot Hillier did a nice job getting to the heart of coding for Sharepoint
and includes good real-world samples.
