Where to place the reference images of custom webpart. we have created an
image folder in SPS folder(C:\inetpub\wwroot\myimage). but the images are
visible only when I placed the webpart on SPS Home page. If any other pages
image not found error occurs! Actualy we want to place it on any of WSS site
also including portal server.

can anybody tell where to place this images?

I usually place mine in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web
server extensions\60\TEMPLATE\IMAGES. That way I can reference them using:

/_layouts/images/<image name>

within the web part.
