Hello,

I've asked this in the past and with the MSDN Concierge as well but don't
recieve the service that I'm supposedely entitled to.

Based on the rules for MSDN Universal subscribers who post to these managed
newsgroups, aren't we supposed to recieve a reply in the thread itself from
someone at Microsoft within a certain amount of hours 24, 48, 72, whatever it
is?

I've found that this is not the case. Why and what can I realistically
expect?

If someone else answers the question before their 48 hour delay is up, then

Microsoft will not answer. But if no answer is forthcoming, then you are
supposed to get an answer from Microsoft. I have seen messages where a proctor
says hold on, I am looking for someone I can assign this to, and then an answer
is made in a short time after that.

However, none of my questions have ever been answered. And there are a lot
more. I'm only on my third question, and it may be that my prior questions
didn't have a simple answer, but I am certainly annoyed at receiving no answer.
However, I'm not sure that I really want a message saying that no one here knows
that. But, if MSDN were the land of Lilliputians and I were the gigantic
traveler with a hose to match, I am not sure that I would give them a good pee
to save their corporate castle.

I've been wondering the same thing...Although I generally don't ask easy
questions either, and so far not even PSS has been able to answer them.

However, I noticed tonight some fineprint in the MSDN Subscriber's site that
explained you have to register and use their "nospam" ficticious email
address in order to even have your questions considered. Of course, when you
follow the process, there appears to be no evidence that you have in fact
followed the rules, and it's not even clear *where* you're supposed to use
this "nospam email address". I've sent an email to their ficticious email
address email address (if that makes sense) asking for clarification on
this. Their rules don't say whether you have to put this "nospam" address
in the body of the post, or whether you must configure your newsreader to
use that value as your email address--which would suck if true, because I'd
rather have my *real* email address in the reply-to.

In the unlikely event I get some clarification on this, I'll post it here.
Or I'll ask my PSS support engineer...I have several cases lingering on like
a bad cold, and I'm about to open another.

In case anyone "Official" is monitoring this, my officially registered
"ficticious no-spam" email address is rdcpro@community.nospam. In case any
spammers are monitoring this, my REAL email address is rdcpro@hotmail.com
;^)

I think that just means that you have to let them generate the email address.

But, since I haven't gotten any response from them, I certainly can't say.
