Cannot connect to Internet Explorer properly, and other prob |
|
|
1. Trying to configure Internet and e-mail with one nic card (it has been
said it can be done). I get an error message --> ("An error occurred while
configuring a component" error message when you run the Configure E-mail and
Internet Connection Wizard in Windows Small Business Server 2003)
We found the appropriate article --->
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;875421
did everything, same error.
2. When trying to access IE on desktop icon, I get an "Open with.." box and
no browser. When go to C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe opens
browser fine.
3. Cannot activate server (will cancel in 30 days) when activation keys
appear in taskbar I click on them and they disappear instead of registering
software. We boght a brand new version of SBS 2003 standard.
Could anyone please help!!!!!!! It is for my business!!!!!

If it were me, I'd probably suggest that you reformat and reload SBS from
scratch. Not sure I would feel comfortable running a server with those
issues, as you probably will keep finding more problems. But maybe someone
else can give you direction.

I would install a second NIC and rerun the Wizard first and if it failed
follow Kevins advice and reinstall with two NICs
